Job Summary:
UCSI Schools is seeking a dynamic and passionate Secondary School Teacher with expertise in Humanities and Business Studies. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that inspire students to explore social, historical, geographical, economic, and business concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve academic excellence. This role emphasizes subject mastery, global awareness, and a commitment to student growth within a supportive, internationally-minded school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Humanities subjects (e.g., History, Geography, Global Perspectives, Economics) and Business Studies for secondary school students.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, and formative/summative assessments in line with the school’s curriculum framework (e.g., Cambridge IGCSE, national curriculum, or equivalent).
- Foster a student-centered learning environment that encourages inquiry, discussion, debate, and analytical thinking.
- Monitor student achievement, provide timely and constructive feedback, and implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Integrate real-world case studies, current events, and interdisciplinary approaches into lessons to promote global citizenship and economic awareness.
- Encourage research skills, critical evaluation of sources, and effective communication in written and oral forms.
- Collaborate closely with fellow teachers to ensure curriculum coherence and contribute to the development of school-wide academic standards.
- Maintain accurate student records, report grades, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians during conferences or as needed.
- Participate actively in school events, co-curricular activities (e.g., debate club, Model United Nations, entrepreneurship programmes), and professional development sessions.
- Uphold the school’s values, maintain professional integrity, and support student wellbeing and character development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, History, Geography, Economics, Business Studies, Education, or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Diploma in Education, PGCE, teaching license).
- Experience teaching Humanities and/or Business Studies at the secondary school level.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Familiarity with international curricula (e.g., Cambridge IGCSE) is highly desirable.
- Passion for humanities and business education, with a commitment to continuous professional growth.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, digital research tools, presentation platforms).
