Mandarin as a Second Language & Mathematics Teacher

Location: Sekolah Sri UCSI, Subang Jaya
Curriculum: Malaysian National Curriculum
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Sekolah Sri UCSI, Subang Jaya is seeking a dedicated and passionate Mandarin as a Second Language & Mathematics Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students following the Malaysian National Curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mandarin as a Second Language and Mathematics, fostering student engagement, and contributing to the overall academic and personal development of students.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Mandarin as a Second Language and Mathematics in accordance with the Malaysian National Curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and learning resources to meet curriculum requirements.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater to students with varying learning abilities and needs.
  • Monitor, assess, and evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic performance, and assessments.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student achievement.

Student Development:

  • Foster students' interest and confidence in learning Mandarin and Mathematics.
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and uphold school policies and procedures.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, Heads of Department, and school leadership to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development programmes, and school events.
  • Work closely with fellow teachers to support cross-curricular learning initiatives where appropriate.

Administrative Duties:

  • Prepare examination papers, assignments, and assessment materials.
  • Complete reports, documentation, and administrative tasks within stipulated timelines.
  • Assist with co-curricular activities, school programmes, and other duties assigned by the school management.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Mathematics, Mandarin, Chinese Language, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (PGDE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience teaching Mandarin as a Second Language and/or Mathematics in a school environment is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with the Malaysian National Curriculum is preferred.
  • Excellent command of Mandarin and English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passionate about teaching and committed to student success.
  • Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital learning tools.
