Job Overview: Science Teacher (Secondary)
Sekolah Sri UCSI is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Science Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality science instruction to secondary school students, inspiring a love for learning and scientific inquiry. This role requires a strong foundation in science education, excellent classroom management, and a commitment to student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate science lessons for secondary-level students in alignment with the school curriculum.
- Teach one or more science disciplines (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics) at the secondary level.
- Foster students’ analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through interactive and practical learning experiences.
- Incorporate various teaching methods, including laboratory experiments, digital tools, and project-based learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress through tests, assignments, lab reports, and projects; provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Promote independent learning and active participation in the classroom.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians on students' academic performance and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and curriculum development.
- Support and participate in extracurricular science-related activities such as science fairs, STEM clubs, and academic competitions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education, or a related discipline.
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent).
- At least 2 years of experience teaching science at the secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of subject matter and effective classroom management skills.
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools for teaching and learning.
