About the Job
Science Teacher Trainee:
- Use the curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities
- Prepare lesson materials, grade exam papers/books/etc., manage the classroom, and evaluate and give feedback to students
- Upgrade teaching qualification via UCSI University PGCE course
- Prepare lesson plans and execute effective lessons
- Exercise open and respectful communication with students, parents, families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff
- Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required
- Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with licensing guidelines and program policies
- Attend workshops/training sessions in order to further advance professional development
- Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined policies
- Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus
- Do covers and reliefs as required
- Provide additional assistance as required by your supervisor
- Making sure that to take on formal teaching qualifications course.
- You shall perform all other duties that may be assigned to you by your superior from time to time.
Lab Technician:
- Reporting to the Head of Science Department and under the direction of the School Science Department.
- The School Science Lab Technician performs a variety of tasks related to the support of chemistry, biology and physics labs in both Primary and Secondary classes.
- As a member of the education team, the Lab Technician must be vigilant in monitoring student safety and be prepared to address safety emergencies including the clean-up of hazardous spills of materials.
- The Lab Technician prepares laboratory practical’s, including set-up and breakdown as per teachers’ instruction, testing such labs and equipment beforehand as to ensure a successful learning experience.
- They are also responsible for servicing, maintenance and repair of all lab equipment, updating the HOD science as to supply orders and kit renewals.
- Stocktaking and inventory keeping are essential skills.
