The Swimming Academy Manager will lead and manage the operations, marketing, and financial performance of the UCSI Kuala Lumpur Swimming Academy. This role focuses on driving profitability through strategic programme development, student enrolment growth, efficient operations, and community engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the academy is recognised as a leading provider of swimming training and programmes, while contributing positively to the revenue and brand reputation of UCSI Schools.
The Manager will also be expected to personally conduct swimming lessons—particularly in the initial stages when enrolment numbers are still building—ensuring quality delivery, direct engagement with students, and role-modelling of coaching standards.
Strategic & Financial Management:
- Develop and execute a business plan for the Swimming Academy with clear enrolment, revenue, and profit targets.
- Monitor income and expenditure closely to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
- Introduce competitive pricing models, packages, and promotions to maximise revenue.
- Provide regular financial and performance reports to the Group CEO.
Programme Development & Delivery:
- Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive range of swimming programmes (learn-to-swim, advanced training, competitive squads, holiday camps, adult classes).
- Personally conduct swimming lessons, with a heavier teaching load at the early stages until enrolment increases and additional coaches are engaged.
- Ensure programmes meet international standards, align with safety guidelines, and deliver value to students and families.
- Continuously innovate and diversify offerings to attract new participants and retain existing ones.
Marketing, Promotion & Lead Generation:
- Drive targeted digital and offline marketing campaigns to increase visibility and enrolments.
- Collaborate with UCSI Schools’ Marketing & Admissions team to leverage the school network for pipeline generation.
- Establish partnerships with feeder schools, sports clubs, and community organisations to expand reach.
- Ensure strong online presence through social media, website content, and customer testimonials.
Sales & Customer Relationship Management:
- Oversee the sales pipeline from inquiry to enrolment, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion.
- Implement CRM systems to manage leads, track enrolments, and monitor retention.
- Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and students to encourage loyalty and referrals.
- Collect and act on customer feedback to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Operational Management:
- Manage scheduling, pool bookings, and staffing to optimise utilisation and minimise downtime.
- Ensure the swimming pool and related facilities are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with health & safety regulations.
- Implement efficient processes for registration, billing, and class management.
Platform and System Management:
- Oversee the Swimming Academy management platform, ensuring all student records, schedules, and financial data are accurate and up to date.
- Collaborate with the system’s person-in-charge (technical or vendor contact) to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues promptly.
- Ensure regular data backups, updates, and user access management are maintained securely.
- Generate reports on enrolment, attendance, and· financial performance from the platform for management review.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage qualified swimming coaches and support staff.
- Set clear KPIs for coaching standards, student progression, and customer service.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on excellence, safety, and profitability.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with local health, safety, and safeguarding regulations. (TES certification)
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of the swimming facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of certifications, lifeguard schedules, and incident reports.
